Wild Nights!: Stories about the Last Days of Poe, Dickinson, Twain, James, and HemingwayWild Nights!: Stories about the Last Days of Poe, Dickinson, Twain, James, and Hemingway by Joyce Carol Oates
My rating: 2 of 5 stars

Decidedly, and unrelentingly, creepy.

Not horrible enough to abandon unread but, really: why write this? Why is the one woman writer profiled in this book portrayed as an object and a victim? Why are most of the other female characters similarly treated? The stories are not inventive enough to take your mind off the ick. (Except maybe the one about Poe.)

Interestingly, the story about Henry James was just as dull and tedious as the original author's works.

Blech and eew.
