WeedflowerWeedflower by Cynthia Kadohata
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

An engaging introduction to the imprisonment of Japanese Americans during WWII. Gentle enough for naive kid readers to get through without being scarred. But maybe too gentle? The main character seems to take almost every injustice and horror in stride. It could just be the calm of the narrator's voice. I do worry that kids who read this might get the impression that this episode was merely an inconvenience.
