Who Really Discovered America?Who Really Discovered America? by Stephen Krensky
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

A great book for kids with crazy relatives who like to bewilder them with outlandish facts.

Krensky starts with the separation of the continents around 65 million years ago and covers the migration across the Bering land bridge, similarities between Jomon and South American pottery, the mystery of sweet potatoes in Polynesia, and more. He takes them each in chronological order and presents the archaeological evidence (or absence thereof) for each. Easy to read and well illustrated with maps.

Although it's a few years old and the pictures are black and white, it's a keeper.
