I am now a middle school librarian! In August, I made the switch to Greenfield Middle School. Now I get to read all that great YA stuff and call it 'work!'
Excitingly, I am working with a terrific group of kids who want to design the library website. We just started noodling around--in the next few days and weeks, they'll be deciding upon the look and content of the site. It's interesting (and a nice stretch for me) to relinquish control and allow the kids to do the thinking and planning. We'll see how it goes! We'll tackle blogs and wikis later in the school year.

That's great news, Robin!!
They are lucky to have you. I spent a decade at the middle school level and loved every minute of it. I still my path will bring me back some day.
Keep in touch.

Robin,
Wonderful news! Congratulations. I love the start your kids have made on the Website. Keep at the long range plan project. One of the greatest benefits of submitting the plan was the fact that the administration and school committee had to review it and approve it. In the process they learned more about what our library does for our students. I have my first LSTA grant this year and am glad to have some extra funds to spend. Mary
